In 1986 after the 3 King Brothers and Daddy King’s little friendly BBQ cook-off one brother continued making his original sauce and giving it to friends. Over the years they wanted more and more and said he should sell it, if that was the only way to get more. One sauce-addicted friend called it “The GOLD”—because he valued it so, and only served it if HE was pouring it.
